Your Child/Grandchild Uses 'REFER' Promo Code

Your child/grandchild needs to open a checking with the promo code, REFER. The code can be used online or in person. Share who made the referral: name, phone number/email at time of account opening. Make sure the account meets two of the three requirements:

  1. Sign up for eStatements
  2. Complete 10 transactions a month
  3. Set up a minimum of $500 monthly direct deposit

$100 REFERRAL RULES AND ELIGIBILITY DISCLOSURE

  1. Eligibility
    • Referring and Referred Member must, at the time of the referral:
      • Referring member be (person or business) in good standing with the credit union at the time of referral (account cannot be overdrawn, etc.)
      • Be at least 13 years old at the time of referral
    • Referred Member must:
      • Apply for and be accepted for Seattle Credit Union membership
      • Open a checking account and engage in at least two (2) of three (3) the following within a “90-day engagement period”: 1) set up a minimum $500 monthly direct deposit; 2) sign up for eStatements; or 3) complete 10 transactions a month
      • Be a new member and cannot be a Seattle Credit Union member in the last twelve (12) months
      • Be a full member and main signer on accounts, not a “joint member”
  2. Commitment
    • For each qualifying Member Referral, the Referring Member will receive a $100 “Referral Bonus”, and the new Referred Member will receive a $100 “Welcome Bonus.”
    • The Referral Bonus will be posted to the Referring Member’s membership savings account within thirty (30) business days of completion of the 90-day engagement period.
    • Welcome Bonus will be posted to the new Referred Member’s membership savings account within thirty (30) business days of the completion of the 90-day engagement period.
    • “Referral” and “Welcome bonuses” during a calendar year totaling $600 or more are reported on Form 1099-MISC.
  3. Exclusions and Restrictions
    • All new accounts are subject to Seattle Credit Union standard Membership Agreement terms and conditions
    • Seattle Credit Union reserves the right to cancel or amend the terms of the Member Referral Program at any time and without notice.
