  • They meet membership requirements

  • They join as a New Member to the credit union

Disclosures

$200 REFERRAL RULES AND ELIGIBILITY DISCLOSURE

1) Eligibility 
a) Referring and Referred Member must, at the time of the referral: 
     i) Be a City of Seattle employee.
     ii) Referring City of Seattle employee must be in good standing with the credit union at the time of referral (account cannot be overdrawn, etc.).
iii) Be at least 18 years old at the time of referral.
b) Referred Member must:
i) Show proof of City of Seattle Employment (paystub, ID Card, or City of Seattle direct deposit)
     ii) Apply for and be accepted for Seattle Credit Union membership.
iii) Open a checking account with the promo code “CITY” and engage in at least two (2) of three (3) of the following within a “90-day engagement period”: 1) set up a minimum $500 monthly direct deposit; 2) sign up for eStatement; or 3) complete 10 transactions a month.
iv) Be a new member and cannot be a Seattle Credit Union member in the last twelve (12) months.
v) Be a full member and main signer on accounts, not a “joint member.”

2) Commitment 
a) For each qualifying Member Referral, the Referring Member will receive a $200 “Referral Bonus”, and the new Referred Member will receive a $200 “Welcome Bonus.”
b) The Referral Bonus will be posted to the Referring Member’s membership savings account within thirty (30) business days of completion of the 90-day engagement period.
c) Welcome Bonus will be posted to the new Referred Member’s membership savings account within thirty (30) business days of the completion of the 90-day engagement period.
d) “Referral” and “Welcome bonuses” during a calendar year totaling $600 or more are reported on Form 1099-MISC.

3) Exclusions and Restrictions 
a) All new accounts are subject to Seattle Credit Union standard Membership Agreement terms and conditions
b) Seattle Credit Union reserves the right to cancel or amend the terms of the Member Referral Program at any time and without notice.
